Medical Cannabis Certification Services at Clarity Mental Health
At Clarity Mental Health Wellness, we are committed to supporting patients in New Mexico who may benefit from medical cannabis as part of their treatment plan. Our licensed healthcare practitioners are approved participants in the New Mexico Medical Cannabis Program (MCP), enabling us to provide certifications for eligible patients.
What is the Medical Cannabis Program?
The New Mexico Medical Cannabis Program (MCP) allows qualified patients to access cannabis for therapeutic use under the supervision of approved healthcare practitioners. The program emphasizes the importance of the doctor-patient relationship to ensure trust and effective care. As a participating provider, Clarity MHW can assist eligible patients in obtaining their medical cannabis personal use card.
Am I Eligible?
To qualify for the program, you must be a New Mexico resident diagnosed with at least one of the approved qualifying medical conditions. "Write-in" diagnoses are not accepted—your condition must match one of the listed ones exactly. If your condition isn't listed, you may petition the New Mexico Department of Health to add it (visit their website for petition details).

How Does the Certification Process Work?
As an approved healthcare practitioner in the program, we follow these steps to certify patients:
-
Initial Consultation: Contact us to schedule an appointment. During your visit (in-person or via telehealth where permitted), we'll review your medical history and confirm your qualifying condition.
-
Provider Approval: Our practitioners are licensed in New Mexico and have completed the required Medical Provider application with the Department of Health. This allows us to certify patients directly.
-
Application Submission: If you qualify, we'll submit your patient application through the secure Online Patient Portal on your behalf. You'll need to provide proof of New Mexico residency (e.g., ID or utility bill) and any relevant medical records.
-
Approval and Card Issuance: Once approved by the Department of Health, you'll receive your medical cannabis personal use card, typically within 30 days. This card allows you to purchase cannabis from licensed dispensaries in New Mexico.
